Coffee

My first official release on all platforms, a labor of love. I had no idea what I was doing, & really had no expectations. It was just me, a MacBook Air, a usb mic & an idea. No technical skill, no Logic Pro (I was still on GarageBand), just vibes. At the time, that was enough. I had an amazing time making this song, & it gave me the confidence I needed to prove to myself that I was capable of doing this for life.

It isn’t about anyone in particular, in fact the beat itself (produced by Urban Nerd Beats) is called coffee, but I was inspired by my relationships at the time. I had a deep love for people at the time, but my mind & emotions were elsewhere. I can’t tell where, I wish I knew. What I do know is, this left me in a state where I was drained after most of my interactions. Hence the first lines of the 1st verse, “They’re all the same to me, constantly draining my energy.”

Funnily enough, I don't drink coffee anymore. But sometimes, interactions can be just as draining. I’m still working on finding a better balance with people & myself.
